Dear Stakeholders: Update: Oil Spill at Oil Terminal, Port of Saldanha
On Tuesday, 01 February 2022 at 14:30, TNPA, Port of Saldanha was informed that an oil leak had occurred at the Strategic Fuel Fund (SFF) Oil Terminal from their crude oil pipeline that was being maintained. The leak resulted in a minor spill into the bay of an estimated 400 liters.
Subsequent to the clean-up and recovery operation that took place, TNPA can confirm that all oil that was in the water has been recovered. The recovery operation was concluded at approximately 16:47 on the 02nd of February 2022.
