The Saldanha Bay Water Quality Forum Trust has been in existence since 1998. Over the last 19 years the Trust has played a major role in monitoring various aspects regarding water quality in Saldanha Bay and the Langebaan Lagoon. This information has been of immense assistance to all the role-players involved providing early warning and guidance.
To date the Trust has mainly been involved in communication with our Contributors and on occasion with those in contravention of the laid down standards. On the odd occasion we would mail reports to those concerned and place articles in our local newspapers.
The “Open Day” has been the only trustworthy method of reporting to and engaging with industry and the community at large. This approach did not enhance our Vision and Goals aiming at achieving an inclusive holistic approach to water quality management.
The new “SBWQFT Website” provides us with a vehicle for two-way engagement Locally, Provincially, National and even Internationally.
This is the SBWQFT’s first attempt to interactively reach out to all role-players and stakeholders to disseminate and receive information as well as to create public awareness of the work performed by the Trust. As the site grows we will obviously develop and adjust accordingly.
Let us all work together as a Team accepting the three P’s of – Positivity, Passion and Perseverance.
